To decrease PM emission from small sized fishing boat, basic experiment about effect of reduction filter and its reproduction were carried out. Then based on the result, filter type PM reduction device of the type installed in the exhaust pipe was developed. The performance examinations were executed by installing it in the test engine and actual ship, the effect was confirmed and improved. As a result, it was clarified that the PM reduction device can remove dry soot in PM by 100%, and PM emission from small sized fishing boat by half.

为降低小型渔船颗粒物排放，进行了小型渔船颗粒物还原过滤效果及其再生的基础试验。然后，基于该结果，开发了安装在排气管中的类型的过滤器型PM减少装置。将其安装在试验机和实船上进行了性能测试，验证了其效果，并进行了改进。其结果是，明确了PM减少装置可以100%地去除PM中的干烟灰，并且可以将来自小型渔船的PM排放减半。
