次世代の放射光源として有望なエネルギー回収リニアックにおいて、高輝度電子銃で発生する超低エミッタンスビームの品質を損なわずにビームを加速・輸送するために重要である空間電荷効果、ビーム不安定性等について研究し、それらをもとに試験加速器「コンパクトERL」の設計研究を行った。
