宇宙から、降雨レーダとマイクロ波放射計が共通のアンテナにより、同一の瞬時視野の降雨を同時に観測する降雨レーダ・マイクロ波放射計複合型降雨観測システムの可能性を、TRMM降雨レーダデータの解析ならびに複合型降雨観測システムのシステム検討により実証した。同システムを将来型の人工衛星搭載降雨観測システムとして提案する。
