放射光を利用して、循環器疾患の診断に使用できる方法の開発を目指して研究を進めた。動脈硬化不安定粥腫の診断を目標に、位相差X線CTを共同で開発し、動物での撮影に成功し、動脈硬化の質的診断にまで到達した。また、X線回折法にての心筋症の新規診断方法を確率するための動物実験とヒトサンプルでの研究を進めた。
