解糖系酵素であるpyruvate kinase M2(PKM2)の発現を免疫組織学的に検討したところ、PKM2の発現はヒト正常組織では見られず食道癌組織のみで見られ、PKM2発現と予後は逆相関を示した。食道癌細胞株を用いた基礎実験では、PKM2の発現を抑制すると食道癌細胞の増殖が抑制され、さらに化学療法の感受性が増強した。以上よりPKM2は食道癌治療における新規の分子標的となりうると考えられた

The expression of glycophytase kinase M2(PKM2) in normal esophageal tissues and esophageal cancer tissues was investigated by immunohistochemistry. Esophageal cancer cell lines were used to inhibit the production of PKM2, inhibit the proliferation of esophageal cancer cells, and increase their susceptibility to chemotherapy. The above PKM2 is a new molecular target for esophageal cancer treatment.
