細菌リポタンパク質はリポタンパク質生合成酵素の働きで細胞膜表層上に局在し、様々な物質の取り込み、あるいは付着、薬剤耐性といった病原性への関与が示唆されている.我々は本研究期間において、グラム陽性齲蝕原性細菌を題材に用い、リポタンパク質生合成酵素による成熟が糖やアミノ酸などの物質の取り込みに及ぼす影響を調べた.その結果、細菌リポタンパク質の機能発揮には生合成酵素による成熟が必須であることを明らかにした.
