マウス骨芽細様細胞MC3T3-E1細胞に対して持続的圧縮力を加えることにより、Hsp25のmRNA、タンパクの発現量が増加した。圧縮力により誘導されたHsp25は、caspase3の活性を抑制し、骨芽細胞のアポトーシスを抑制していることが示された。またカルシウムイオンチャンネルも圧縮力を感知する機構のひとつであることが示唆された。
