本研究では、日本におけるアセンブラーとサプライヤーとの企業間関係(以下、サプライヤー関係)において、1990年代以降のサプライヤー関係の変化が、中小サプライヤーの存立にいかなる影響を及ぼすか、またそれにより中小サプライヤーがいかなる行動をとるかを理論的・実証的に明らかにすることを目的とし、(1)1990 年代以降におけるサプライヤー関係の変化がいかなるものか、(2)中小サプライヤーが方策の1つとしてとりうる連携が中小サプライヤーの存立にいかなる効果をもたらすか、(3)以上の(1)と(2)の検討事項から、いかなる理論化を図ることができるか、の3つの基本的課題を基に、検討を行った。アセンブラーと中小サプライヤーとの間の取引は必ずしも公正とは言えない側面がある。中小サプライヤー側からの要請として、大企業の行動抑制や、大企業との公正・正当な取引の実現などがある。規模の異なる企業同士の企業間取引には、不公正となりうるような実態がある。実際、液晶パネル市場での大手アセンブラーは、サプライヤーとの取引関係を戦略的に見直すという戦略転換がみられ、極めて劇的な変化が起きている。アセンブラーの戦略転換のなかで、中小サプライヤーの対応が着目されるわけであるが、その対応策の1つとして中小企業連携がある。中小サプライヤーは、中小企業連携の参画に伴い、最終的に自社の経営基盤をよりいっそう強化することができるような、自律化とも言うべき成果を得ていることが、アドック神戸のケースから明らかとなった。また、中小企業庁が展開する新連携制度認定案件のコア企業へのアンケート調査から、制度がはじまってまだ間もなく連携体としての成果もまた参画企業に対する成果もまだ出てきてはいないが、アドック神戸にみられた自律化のプロセスはみられており、成果の醸成は、時間の問題であるといえる。最後に、研究対象とする中小サプライヤーのケース・スタディに当初計画以上に時間を要したことから、当該企業に仕事を発注する大手アセンブラーについての検討を研究計画期間中に行うことができず、そのためサプライヤー関係の変化と連携との理論的結合の課題が残された。次年度は研究計画外ではあるが、次年度も引き続き研究課題の追求を行っていく。
