沈み込み帯におけるマグマの生成や物質循環を明らかにするため、外熱式ダイヤモンドアンビル高温高圧発生装置内部の試料を顕微鏡下で直接観察することにより沈み込み帯のフルイドの相関係の決定し、また、顕微レーザーラマン分光装置を併用して高温高圧下のマグマやフルイドの構造に関する分光学的研究を行った。
