テーマ「未上場の預金取扱機関の信用リスク」については、収集した未上場の信用金庫の破たん確率の推計に必要な上場地方銀行、信用金庫の財務データ、上場地方銀行の株価総額のデータから信用金庫の破たん確率を推計し、さらに、推計された信用金庫の破たん確率が事後的な信用金庫の破たんをよく予測していることを明らかにした。その結果は内閣府経済社会総合研究所からESRI DPとして2019年4月に公表された。論文は、学会等で受けたコメントを基に改訂中である。また、信用金庫の合併を評価するため、信用金庫の合併についてのデータを収集するとともに、地理的に近い信用金庫どうしの合併が多いことを利用して信用金庫どうしの距離、および、それに物理的な関係のある信用金庫の本店の緯度、経度を、計測した。テーマ「金融危機時の政府系金融機関の融資と借り手企業への影響」ついては、分析結果をまとめたSekino and Watanabe (2017)を改訂して、2018年3月にJournal of Money, Credit and Bankingに投稿し採択不可になった際のコメントを検討し、論文を大幅に改定するべきか検討を行った。「マクロプルデンシャル政策の包括的分析」の一環としての「金融緩和政策と銀行のリスクテイク」については、必要なデータ収集、整理、アベノミクスとも形容される極端な量的緩和政策により企業の金融環境が大幅に緩和された時期に、日本企業は大企業を中心に、新規設立、買収などで海外の子会社・関連会社を急速に増加させた一方で、国内の子会社・関連会社、設備投資は横ばいにとどまったことを明らかにした。
