本研究では，異文化間コミュニケーションの場面において，個人のパーソナリティが非言語行動と感情表現にどのような影響を及ぼすのかを実証的に検討することを研究の目的としている。当該年度においては，異文化比較研究法を用いた身体接触に関する研究の歴史と現状，および研究動向と課題についてまとめた。1960年代から2000年代までは，各々の文化における接触行動の特徴や異質な文化間の相違などが議論されてきたが，2000年代以降，身体接触行動を総合的に理解するためのアプローチとして，文化要因をベースとしながらも性やパーソナリティ要因を分析枠組みに取り込み，複数要因による複合的な影響を検討する動きが見受けられるようになった。さらに，異文化比較研究において，類似文化間の相違に注目する動きも現れた。類似文化間の研究では，発達的観点にも注目が集まり，自我の発達や文化内在化が著しく進行する中学生期に，接触規範にかかわる文化内在化が進む結果として身体接触の文化差が現れることも確認された。類似性の高い文化間のコミュニケーションにおいては，共感度が高いという良さもあるが，かえって文化の相違が十分想定されずにコミュニケーションが図られ，意図せぬ誤解を招くことがしばしばある。それゆえ，実証的な方法を用いた類似文化間の比較研究の蓄積を通じ，同質文化圏内の異質性を明らかにし，その含意を検討することは異文化比較研究における主要課題の一つといえる。また，身体接触は気持ちや感情を伝えるための最も効果的な手段であり，他者への肯定的又は否定的な身体接触は，愛・同情などの親密感又は嫌悪感を表す自己表出ともなりうるため，感情伝達における身体接触行動の相違に注目する異文化比較研究は，友好な対人関係構築をめぐる議論を深めていくうえで有効なものと考えられる。

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of non-verbal behavior and emotional performance on intercultural communication. The similarity between high and middle culture is high and the common sensitivity is high. The cultural contradiction is very important. The main topic of comparative study of different cultures is to discuss the differences between homogeneous cultures and their implications. Physical contact is the most effective means of maintaining feelings, positive and negative feelings, love, sympathy, intimacy and negative feelings, expressing oneself, emotional communication, physical contact and action, cross-cultural comparative study, friendly relationship construction, discussion, etc.
