化学放射線同時併用療法で加療した頭頸部進行癌未治療新鮮例90 例について、年齢、性、分化度、部位、TNM 分類、抗癌剤、p53 遺伝子変異、ヒトパピローマウイルス(HPV)感染が予後因子となるか否か検討した。単変量解析ではHPV 感染が正の相関を、p53 disruptivemutation が負の相関を示したが、多変量解析ではHPV 感染にのみ相関を認めた。従って、HPV感染が独立した予後良好因子であることが明らかとなった
