项目摘要

当該研究の最終年度として、前年度までの英語学・言語学的理論研究から、生成文法理論における非平面無向グラフとしての「裸句構造」に対し、数学・情報科学で確立されているグラフ理論の有向木巡回探索アルゴリズムを応用する方法として、自然言語の統語構造に特有な範疇投射の弁別が有効である事を見いだし、節点ラベルとして最大投射範疇の節点ラベルから形態音素形式の線状順序を得る方法を確立した。木巡回探索で確立されている前順序、内順序、後順序それぞれのアルゴリズムは、自然言語の三大語順類型であるVSO型、SVO型、SOV型にそれぞれ対応し、「裸句構造」の最大投射範疇ラベルから形態音素形式の線状順序を得る方法により、統語構造をグラフ理論的有向木として捉えるKural(2005)において経験的問題であったVSO型言語での疑問詞移動疑問文語順を正しく生成可能になった。更に、範疇により主要部先行型と主要部後続型の混合語順を示すドイツ語等の非調和語順言語においても、最新の生成文法理論における位相範疇に巡回探索順序を制御する素性を仮定する事により、移動を伴わない基底生成語順として分析可能である事も示した。また、いずれの線状化方式をとっても、現行の「裸句構造」理論における付加移動としての主要部移動は問題であり、指定部への代入移動、もしくは主要部同士の融合操作として捉えなおす必要があること、また演算量の経済性の観点から、移動操作と併合操作は派生文脈で夫々のコストが変化するため、経済性原理は動的なものでなければならない点を解明した。
