项目摘要

本研究の目的は、人々の生活・生業と集落環境との関係について、集落復原図を用いて多角的な視点で考察を行い、民俗学における新しい環境民俗建築学的方法論の確立と普及、今後の研究発展のための基礎資料の作成を行うことである。今年度は、『Lake Biwa: Interactions between Nature and People』に「The traditional baths used in houses in Shiga Prefecture」というタイトルで論文を執筆した。本論文は、滋賀県の民家における伝統的な桶風呂利用について執筆したものである。昨年度に引き続き桶風呂の製作工程について調査した。滋賀県は、琵琶湖を中心に、大きく湖北、湖東、湖南、湖西の４つの地域に分かれ、それぞれ特色のある文化を育んできたが、主に湖北から湖東、湖南地域にかけて、少しの湯と浴槽内にこもらせた蒸気で入浴する半蒸半温浴の風呂があった。地域によって様々な桶風呂を使っていたが、桶風呂の製作工程を明らかにした。景観の中でも民家における生活の情景はどのようなものだったかについて復元的な研究を行い、滋賀県彦根市肥田町の鹿島家などを研究対象に、聞き取り調査と民家実測調査を行い、民家における水利用施設、肥料生産施設について復元的考察を行った。今後の研究の方向性の明確化のため、現在収集している資料を中心に、間取り図の資料の特徴について取りまとめを行う準備作業を行った。
