项目摘要

本研究の主目的は、アカデミック・インブリーディングが学問生産性に及ぼす影響についての分析を深化させることであり、また、両者の関係性のプロセスに関する理解を深めることにあった。研究においては、メキシコ・ポルトガル・日本という異なる科学の発展段階にある国々の比較分析を実施した。まず、メキシコの事例では、インブリーディングが学問生産性にネガティブな影響力を及ぼすことが示されたが、同時にインブリーディングが特に教育やサービスをミッションとするポストに見られることが影響している可能性も示された。また、ポルトガルの事例では、インブリーディングにおいても他大学のポスドク経験があれば学問生産性の減少は少ないなど、学外との交流の少なさが学問生産性の低さと関連している可能性が示された。日本の事例については、教員へのヒアリング調査および質問紙調査を実施し、中高年にみられたかつての学閥やアカデミック・ボス支配と密接にむすびついたインブリーディングを生みやすい環境が、若年層では大きく変化してきていることが明らかになった。具体的には、任期制や公募制をとるポストが拡大する中で、若手の研究者・教員が必ずしもインブリーディング的な移動パターンをとらなくなってきており、同時に以前よりアカデミックな教員市場のなかでのキャリア形成が難しくなってきていることなどが明らかになった。同時に、シルバーコードという、一度他大学に出た上で同窓生を採用する在り方が広く見られることも確認できた。
