项目摘要

中国雲南省迪慶州に居住するナシ族の宗教的職能者「トンバ」と、ナシ族の共同体を支える親族組織、出自の記憶、祖先祭祀の関係性について、各種史料の分析と現地調査を行い、次の点を詳らかにした。(1)「トンバ」は総称であり、担う儀式ごとに職能者の名称は異なる。中でも、「カドゥ」は共同体の祖先祭祀(祭天)儀礼を司る世襲職であって、社会制度上、修行次第で誰もがなれる「ダフ」等とは根本的に異なる。(2)ナシ族の祖先祭祀は、「カドゥ」が担う祭天儀礼と、「ダフ」が担う送葬儀礼、家長が担う死者供養の三種類があり、「祖先」(出自)の想起のされ方は送葬儀礼と死者供養が共通し、祭天儀礼は後二者とは構造的に対立する。即ち、送葬儀礼と死者供養は、最近の死者から始原へと溯るのに対し、祭天儀礼は始原から最近の死者へと近付いていく。(3)「カドゥ」の「世襲制」は、共同体の基幹である「家」制度に支えられている。「家」は「断絶」の危機に際して養子・婿を迎え、それでも断絶した場合、断絶家は別家の分家時に「再興」される。その際、断絶家の「祖先」は再興家によって継承される。即ち、「家」は祖先供養を通じて双系的に継承され、実際の「血縁」関係は世代を重ねるごとに忘れられていく。(4)ナシ族の共同体内には、「○○族であったが、いつのまにかナシ族になった」という「家」が少なくない。この「いつのまにか」のプロセスには、「家」制度と「カドゥ」による共同体の祖先祭祀が機能している。以上四点は、ナシ族の宗教的職能者を一括に「トンバ」と呼び、その内容の差異に注意を払ってこなかった従来までの文化人類学研究や歴史学研究からは到達し得ないものであり、それらを詳細かっ明確に示したという点で本研究は非常に価値がある。また、異なる「出自」をもつ集団が「ナシ族」へと取り込まれていくプロセスは、複雑に民族が雑居する中国西南地域での研究に対しても、有効な視点を提供する。
