项目摘要

沖縄島・宮古島・与那国島において、哺乳類化石の産出が確認されている6箇所の洞窟・裂罅の踏査を行い、哺乳類化石標本の収集を行った。また、多良間島で新たに3箇所の洞窟を踏査し、化石が産出すると考えられる堆積物の予備的な採取を行った。得られた標本については、系統・分類学的研究を行い、属種を同定した。タフォノミーの観点からは破片化の状況(磨耗度含む)・サイズ・着色状態・表面の変成状態などのデータを観察・測定し、評価を進めている。前述した6産地においては化石調査と並行して洞窟堆積物のサンプリングを行っている。採集してきた堆積物については、実験室内でpHを測定し評価を行った。化石の化学分析については、総合地球環境学研究所において、コラーゲンの抽出作業及び炭素/窒素比の測定を行った。加えて哺乳類の遺骸を堆積物に埋没させるコラーゲンの減少実験を行い、得られたサンプルについて同様に作業・測定を進めている。前年度からの継続調査において、宮古島・伊良部島・石垣島の計5箇所の洞窟から得られたサンプルに関する研究成果は、博士論文にまとめて京都大学理学研究科に提出した。沖縄島フナクブ第2洞及び宮古島無名の穴での研究成果の一部については、BAR International SeriesのJAQUA proceedingsに投稿し、受理された(現在、編集作業中である)。また、石垣島C-1洞での調査の過程で採集した古人骨については、共同研究者たちとともにAnthropological Scienceに論文を投稿し、受理された(近日掲載される予定である)。学会発表については、日本洞窟学会第35回大会において伊良部島アブガー第2洞から産出した化石を報告し、鉱物分析の結果とコラーゲンの保存に関する考察についてポスター発表を行った。

Okinoshima, Miyakoshima, and Nagano islands were identified for the production of mammalian fossils. Six caves were explored and collections of mammalian fossils were conducted. The three new caves in Tarama Island were explored and the fossils were produced. The study of systematics and taxonomy is carried out in the same way as that of species. The state of fragmentation (including abrasion), the state of coloration, the state of formation of the surface, the state of detection, the state of evaluation, and the state of progress. The fossil survey of the above six producing areas and the study of the cave deposits are carried out in parallel. The pH value of the collected sediment was measured and evaluated. Chemical analysis of fossils is carried out in conjunction with the extraction and determination of carbon/carbon ratios conducted by the Institute of Geoenvironmental Sciences. Add the skeleton of mammals to reduce the amount of debris in the process, and obtain the same operation and determination. The results of the previous year's research on five caves in Miyako Island, Iriabe Island and Ishigaki Island were presented by the Graduate School of Science, Kyoto University. A part of the research results of the 2nd hole of Okiyojima and the nameless hole of Taimikojima was submitted and accepted for BAR International Series JAQUA proceedings (now, compilation work is in progress). During the investigation of Cave C-1 in Ishigaki Island, we collected ancient bones and submitted and accepted papers from Anthropological Science by co-researchers (recently published). The 35th Meeting of the Japan Cave Society was held in Irobe Island, Japan. The results of fossil analysis and preservation were reported.
