調査事例である中国・陝北地域の「剪紙」(切り紙)をめぐるアート・プロジェクトは従来、主に企画・展示主体である美術家の言説に添う形で、「現代芸術」の一実践として扱われてきた。これに対して本研究は、プロジェクト実施地での多様な参与者・非参与者の実践を対象に据え、「剪紙」というモノや行為自体に焦点をあてる。芸術(と呼ばれうる)実践が埋め込まれる文化・社会的文脈、芸術家以外の参与者の行為や思考等の分析を通して、より広い視角で「現代芸術」や手仕事の考察を目指す。本年度は調査事例の歴史的、社会文化的背景となる以下の二点について、当該地域の農村部でのフィールドワークを計二期、約半年間実施した。(A)「民間芸術」の土壌としての陝北地域の農村社会の暮らし、習俗や人々の思考、ハビトゥス等(B)1930年代以降、現代までの当該地域における「民間芸術」化活動(A)は主に、漢字文化圏における非識字者の口頭的・視覚造形的思考、作品制作過程にみる「人・もの・環境」のインタラクション等を分析した。研究結果の一部は、東京外国語大学アジア・アフリカ言語文化研究所の共同研究プロジェクト「『もの』の人類学的研究田もの、身体、環境のダイナミクス」にて口頭発表し、論文「中国・陝北の剪紙が現れるとき:かたちと言葉の物質性」(次年度公刊のプロジェクト成果論集に掲載予定)に著した。(B)については農民作家と地域内外の職業芸術家双方への聞き取り調査や創作活動の観察を通して、両者の相互影響や民間芸術の政治流用の歴史と、農民達の具体的な経験が交差する諸相を明らかにした。これは次年度の日本文化人類学会で発表を予定している。また、映像を用いた調査法研究の一環として、自らも民族誌的映像実践に取り組み、調査対象者と協働して映像作品を制作した。これは日本国内の私立博物館や市民活動の場で一般観覧者向けの上映会を開催し、合わせて研究成果の報告会を行った。

Case Study: China·Northern Shaanxi "paper-cut"(paper-cut) This study focuses on multiple participants, non-participants, and self-centered behaviors. The analysis of the cultural and social context, the behavior of participants outside the artist, etc. from the perspective of "modern art" and the investigation of official affairs. This year, we will investigate the history of the case, the social and cultural background, and the rural areas of the region. (A)(B)"folk art" activities since the 1930s and modern times in the rural areas of northern Shaanxi (A) analysis of "folk art" activities in the main and cultural circles of Chinese characters, oral and visual thinking of illiterate people, and production process of works. One part of the research results was presented orally at the joint research project of the Institute of Language and Culture, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies,"Anthropological Research on the Field, Body, and Environment" and published in the paper "Paper-cutting in Northern Shaanxi in China: the Materiality of the Leaf"(scheduled for publication in the Proceedings of the Next Annual Public Journal). (B)In this paper, the author and the professional artists both inside and outside the region are involved in the investigation of the work activities, the interaction of the artists, the history of the political flow of folk arts, and the specific aspects of the farmers. The Japanese Cultural Anthropology Society will publish a report on the next year. The research of mapping method is one of the key issues in ethnographic mapping research. The exhibition will be held for general visitors to private museums and civic events in Japan, and the presentation of research results will be held.
