We developed two vocabulary tests in Japanese, Word Meaning Test and Word Association Test, and conducted a large scale study for second language(L2) learners at intermediate to superior levels and native speakers of Japanese. The results indicated that the development of word knowledge is influenced by factors such as word frequency and type, knowledge component, and L1 background, involving quantitative and qualitative changes. We also investigated empirically into the relation between multidimensional word knowledge and L2 reading in Japanese and English. Furthermore, we conducted theoretical and descriptive research on linguistic features of lexical form, meaning, and use in context.

我们开发了两个日语词汇测试，词义测试和单词联想测试，并对中高级水平的第二语言学习者和以日语为本族语的人进行了大规模的研究。结果表明，词汇知识的发展受词频和词型、知识成分、母语背景等因素的影响，既有量的变化，也有质的变化。我们还对日语和英语中多维词汇知识与二语阅读之间的关系进行了实证研究。此外，我们还对词汇形式、意义和语境使用的语言特征进行了理论和描述性研究。
