In order to retrieve handwritten objects precisely from a large amount of database by a handwritten query, I have proposed the retrieval method. In the experiment, top-5 retrieval accuracy of more than 98.9% was obtained if the length of a handwritten query is more than 5 strokes. Therefore, this approach is concluded to be sufficiently practical. I have also constructed an editing system that can delete, insert, and move any handwritten strings a user specified by use of a pen gesture.
