Exercise therapy and immune function in patients with chronic respiratory failure

目的是确定运动训练对慢性呼吸道疾病患者唾液和呼出气冷凝液（EBC）免疫功能变化的影响。作为免疫功能的指标，测定唾液和EBC中的分泌型免疫球蛋白A（SIgA）。无法在EBC标本中测量气道产生的SIgA，因此，EBC标本不能用于监测SIgA浓度。以医院为基础的肺康复计划，设计了运动训练和呼吸再训练，并没有降低唾液中的抗氧化剂的SIgA和免疫力。本研究结果提示，肺功能康复治疗有助于提高机体免疫功能，改善体能，提高运动能力。

The objective was to determine the effects of exercise training on changes in salivary and exhaled breath condensate (EBC) immune function in patients with chronic respiratory disease. As an indicator of an immune functions, secretary immunoglobulin A (SIgA) in saliva and EBC was measured. Airway production of SIgA was unable to be measured in EBC specimens and, therefore, EBC specimens cannot be used to monitor SIgA concentration. Hospital-based pulmonary rehabilitation program which designed exercise training and breathing retraining, did not decrease SIgA and immunity with antioxidants in saliva. The result of this study suggests that pulmonary rehabilitation could be a useful for improving immune function, also makes improving physical conditioning and exercise performance.
