World Knowledge and Lexical Meaning: Toward the EnrichedSystem of Lexical Semantics

在这个项目中，我们提取了决定短语结构或限制各种构词过程的词汇意义的语法相关语义特征，并试图在生成词典的框架中用质点结构来表示它们。我们还揭示了衍生物或化合物中同种结构的合并机制。具体来说，我们处理了英语中的名动词和日语中的“N+A/V”和“V+V”复合词，以说明名词和动词的质点结构如何决定复合词的语义和句法特征。

In this project, we’ve extracted grammatically relevant semantic features of the lexical meaning which determine the phrasal structure or restrict various word formation processes and tried to represent them in terms of Qualia Structure in the framework of Generative Lexicon. We’ve also revealed the conflation mechanism of the Qualia Structures in derivatives or compounds. Specifically, we dealt with denominal verbs in English and ‘N+A/V’ and ‘V+V’ compounds in Japanese to show how the Qualia Structures of nouns and verbs determine the semantic and syntactic features of the compounds.
