Maintenance of male color dimorphism in a cichlid fish

雄性鲤有两种颜色变体，即黄尾变体和蓝尾变体。我研究的目的是检验这种二型性通过异源交配持续存在的假设。在目前的拨款中，我为寻找负责男性颜色的基因奠定了基础。异源交配在进化生物学和生理学领域受到关注。这项研究将有助于有关领域的进展。

There are two colour morphs in males of Cyprichromis fish, namely, yellow-tail morph and blue-tail morph. The aim of my study is to test the hypothesis that this dimorphism persists through disassortative mating. In the present grant, I laid the groundwork for the search for genes responsible for the male colour. Disassortative mating has received attention in the fields of evolutionary biology and physiology. This study will contribute to the progress of the areas concerned.
