We analyzed gene expression in cell lines established from bone marrow and pleural effusion from one patient with myeloma. Bone marrow and pleural effusion mean primary and metastatic tumor. The former does not produce amylase, but the latter produces salivary amylase. Amylase gene was highly expressed in the cell line originated from pleural effusion. We found some miRNAs highly expressed in the cell line originated from pleural effusion. The relation between such miRNAs and amylase expression or poor prognosis should be moreover elucidated.
