I investigated the involvement of nuclear receptor superfamily in the transcriptional regulation of the human type 1 iodothyronine deiodinase (hdiol) gene in the liver. I suggest that some nuclear receptors positively regulate the expression of the hdiol gene and that there is a cross-talk between some nuclear receptors and thyroid hormone receptor in the transcription of the hdiol gene.
