Symbiotic relations between marine sport activities in coastal area : toward the development of the sport geography

本研究旨在厘清圣地牙哥都市圈内码头与沿海用途的定位，以促进周边沿海地区的均衡发展。我们发现了以下的分区：居住在圣地亚哥海湾口附近高档地区的高收入阶层使用传统的游艇俱乐部，居住在城市内陆地区的中产阶级使用位于海湾封闭部分的码头。通过对市区游客游憩行为的分析，证明了利用码头进行市区再开发的有效性。

This study aimed to clarify the location of marinas and the coastal uses in San Diego metropolitan area, toward to promote well-balanced development around the coastal area. We found the following compartment: high income bracket residing in upscale areas near the mouth of the San Diego Bay uses a traditional yacht club, and middle class residing in inland areas of the city uses a marina located at closed-off section of the bay. Analyzing the visitors' recreational behaviors in the downtown, we proved the effectiveness of downtown redevelopment utilizing marinas.
