Study on the belief in Miraculous Buddhist Images and creating Buddhist Sculpture in Nanto culture

本研究阐明了自古以来在奈良地区(南户)创造利润和奇迹的神仙佛像信仰，其复制品遍布日本各地，在日本佛教雕塑史上产生了重大影响。并阐明了日本最著名的佛教雕塑家文井先生在镰仓早期的活动与神仙形象的信仰密切相关，尤其是在南藤地区。其中一些研究成果在神奈川县神奈万子博物馆举办了“Unkei”(2011)展览，向公众开放。

This study clarified that the belief in Miraculous Buddhist images, which give profits and Miracles in Nara region (Nanto) since ancient era, spread its copies all over Japan and had great influence in the history of Japanese Buddhist sculpture. And also clarified that the activity of the most famous Japanese Buddhist sculptor, Unkei in the early Kamakura period involved closely with the belief in miraculous Buddhist image especially in Nanto region. Some of the research results were open to the public with the exhibition "Unkei" (2011) in Kanagawa Prefectural Kanazawabunko Museum.
