The decipherment of the brothel Shimada-ya's documents has been achieved. By the analysis of these documents, it is made clear that the supply with prostitutes was supported by a social system of a large region over some countries. And according to the customers' lists of brothels, for common men in Edo era it had been mostly special occasions like traveling or visiting temples to pay for prostitution, but the commercial sexual exploitation have become common in their ordinary lives around 1910-20s.

岛田屋妓院的文件已经破译完成。通过对这些文献的分析，可以清楚地看出，妓女的供应是由一些国家的一个大区域的社会制度支持的。根据妓院的顾客名单，对于江户时代的普通男人来说，大多数情况下都是像旅行或参观寺庙这样的特殊场合来支付卖淫费用，但在1910- 20年代左右，商业性剥削在他们的日常生活中变得普遍。
