项目摘要

本年度は、対象地域の古墳動向を分析検討するための資料収集に重点を置き、問題の所在とそのための解決方法を明確に把握するため、以下の研究事業をおこなった。フィールド調査・関連分野研究 5月に山形県高畠町大師森石窟石棺の実測調査を実施し、これが古墳時代中期初頭前後に位置づけられる全国的にも特異な組合せ式石棺であることを明らかにした。8～9月には福島県本宮市庚申壇古墳の第3次発掘調査を実施した。成果は次のとおりである。(1)墳長36mの帆立貝墳で後円部が二段に築成され、上段斜面に葺石をもつ。(2)後円部に二つ所在する埋葬施設のうちの第一主体部を完掘し、全長6mの礫槨から鉄製品を中心とする副葬品の全容を解明。(3)円筒埴輪や副葬品の内容から、築造年代は古墳時代中期中葉(西暦5世紀前半)と判明。3月に、福島県沿岸地域に特有に分布する6世紀の刳抜式石棺の現地踏査を実施し、その立地および現状を把握したうえで、簡易の計測等を行い、今後の詳細な調査に備えた。古墳動向研究東北地方の中～後期の有力古墳に関するデータベースを構築し、基本情報(墳形、墳長、外表施設、埋葬施設、副葬品等)の入力を開始した。また、東北南部に所在する該当古墳(福島県福島市下島渡八幡塚古墳、国見町八幡塚古墳など)の現地踏査に赴き、基本情報の確認と補足を行った。その他関東、近畿、四国、南九州などに所在する関連遺跡・古墳の現地調査や、研究機関に対する資料調査を実施し、関連情報の収集を行うとともに、本研究成果の相対的位置づけに努めた。また、対象時期の東アジア情勢を調査するため、中国北京市・内モンゴル自治区の遺跡と博物館の調査を行った。
