The International Labor Migration Between China and Japan:Mechanism and Socio-Economic Impacts

在为期3年的研究期间(2009年-2012年)，基于实地调查和官方统计数据，我们分析了中国和日本这两个亚洲最重要的经济体之间的劳动力(人口)迁移。考察和澄清了双向移民的规模、移民的地理分布/行业分布以及这些分布的潜在因素，以及这些国际移民对目的地地区/城市的经济/社会影响。在这些调查和分析的基础上，在日本和中国举行的国际会议和研讨会上提交了一些论文和研究报告。其中一些已在学术期刊或政策导向杂志上发表。此外，部分研究成果已被编辑成一本名为《新中国移民与中国的经济发展：从人才流失到人才循环》的日本书，该书将于2012年7月由东京田书出版社出版。

During the 3-year study period(2009-2012), based on field surveys and official statistics, we analyzed the labor(population) migration between China and Japan, the two most important economies in Asia. The bi-direction migration scales, the geographical distribution/industrial distribution of migrants and the underlying factors of these distributions, and the economic/social impacts of these international migration on the destination regions/cities are examined and clarified.Based on such surveys and analysis, several papers and research reports have been presented at international conferences and seminars held in Japan and China. Some of them have been published in academic journals or policy-oriented magazines. In addition, a part of research results have been edited into a Japanese book titled as The New Chinese Migrants and China's Economic Development : From Brain Drain to Brain Circulation, which will be published by the Taga Shupan(Tokyo) in July, 2012.
