Tumor cell vaccine expressing GITRL-Fc and gene therapy with adenovirus encoding GITRL-Fc were found to be effective in cancer immunotherapy. We started a clinical trial with TCR-gene modified T cells that express MAGE-A4-specific TCR for patients with advanced esophageal cancer. Stimulation through integrin molecules and CD4 T cell-help were found to enhance multifunctionality and survival of tumor specific CD8+ T cells.
