In vitro cell culture experiment demonstrated that airway epithelial cell growth was improved by adding cytokines in the culture medium. Erectroporation also improved efficacy of gene introduction into culture cells of airway epithelium. Gene expression was observed in the alveolar epithelium by intratracheal administration of naked gene. However, lung injury due to pressure to epithelium was observed.
