项目摘要

本研究は、生態系(エコシステム)サービスの側面から持続可能なバイオ燃料を評価するための概念的枠組みの開発、試行を目的としておこなった。研究の第一段階では、生態系サービスと人間の福利へのバイオ燃料の影響について学術文献による調査をおこなう。この文献調査で得た見解は体系化され、バイオ燃料を生態系サービスに組み込むための学術文献による包括的な試みの第一歩となった。研究の第二段階では、ブラジル(サトウキビから生産されるエタノール)、インドネシア(パーム椰子油から生産されるバイオディーゼル)において主要なステークホルダーを対象に現地での面談調査および情報収集をおこない、開発したバイオ燃料の影響についての概念的枠組みに改良を加えながら応用する。本研究の結果は、生態系サービスからのアプローチによりバイオ燃料のトレードオフを分析するための概念的枠組みおよび共通認識を提供できうること、また、単体の生態系サービス、もしくは人間の福利に直接影響を与える複数の生態系サービスの活動としてバイオ燃料をどのように概念化するかについて示唆するものである。成果については、ケンブリッジ大学プレスで2011年に出版される途上国におけるバイオ燃料の影響に関する書籍の改訂版の編集に携わったり、数々の学術書で発表。また、リオデジャネイロで開催された国際エネルギー経済学会(IAEE2010)、オルデンブルグで開催された国際生態経済学会(ISEE2010)、名古屋で開催されたCBD-COP10等の国際会議においても発表した。

This study aims to develop and test the concept of ecosystem service system, which is based on the concept of sustainable fuel evaluation. The first stage of the study is to investigate the impact of ecosystem services on human welfare and fuel consumption. The literature survey has yielded insights into the systematization, organization, and use of fuels in the ecosystem, including the first step in the academic literature. In the second stage of the study, the concept of "oil production" and "coconut oil production" was studied. The main factors were the interview survey, information collection, development and fuel impact. The concept of "oil production" was improved. The results of this study provide insights into the conceptual framework and common understanding of ecosystem services and the direct impact of individual ecosystem services on human well-being and the conceptualization of multiple ecosystem services and activities. The results were published in 2011, and the revised edition of the book was compiled with the publication of several academic books. International conferences such as IAEE 2010, ISEE 2010 and CBD-COP10 were held in Nagoya.
