项目摘要

本年度は、内外の諸研究機関で調査した史資料を総合的な分析にかけるとともにその成果を公表した。近代中央アジアのイスラーム王権の特質を解明するという本研究の趣旨に沿って、とくに王権のイデオロギーの検討に重点を置いた。「ブハラのマンギト朝のイデオロギー的性格について:イスラーム王権論からの一考」と題する口頭発表では、マンギト朝の権威とイデオロギーの発現様態が現実に生起した事件や事象と深く相関していた事実を時系列的に跡づけた。これはイスラーム王権論の分析視角を実践的に用いた試みであり、ロシア統治以前と以後の比較分析から、主権の存否が支配の正当化のあり方を多分に規定し、ブハラにおけるスンナ派とシーア派の関係の帰趨にも大きく影響したことを論証したものである。論集Asiatic Russiaに収載された"Sunni-Shi'i relations in the Russian protectorate of Bukhara, as perceived by the local'ulama"と題する論考では、あるべき政治秩序と現実の状況をブハラのスンナ派ウラマーがいかに認識したかに分析の焦点を置き、マンギト朝のスンナ派正統主義イデオロギー統制下でのシーア派信徒のタキーヤ(信仰隠し)や、ロシア統治期のシーア派禁圧の弛緩にともなう宗派関係の緊張といった、これまでほとんど看過されてきた事実に第一次史料から光を当てた。本研究は、未公刊かつ未検討のペルシア語稿本・文書を多用すると同時に、テュルク語やロシア語等の多言語による多類型の同時代史料に依拠し、方法論としてはイスラーム王権論とロシア帝国論を併用している。こうした本研究ならではの方法によったからこそ導出しえた新知見も少なくない。総じて本研究は、中央アジア・イスラーム王権の存立と政治秩序の維持にとって公権力によるイデオロギー統制がきわめて重要であったことを実証した。ここで例証した王権と宗派イデオロギーの関係性は、他地域や異時代との比較にも有用な素材を提供するはずであり、わけても比較王権論の見地からして少なからぬ意義を有する。
