中長距離の旅客市場において、鉄道の高速化や路線拡大、格安航空会社の参入により今後ますます低価格競争が激しくなると考えられる。そこで、各輸送機関が適切な運賃制度を評価するための数理的な分析が必要となる。本研究では、複数の輸送機関のそれぞれが1日に複数の出発スケジュールを提供するとき、ある1機関の全スケジュールから得られる総期待収益を最大とすることを目的とした販売価格の決定問題について研究をおこなった。ここでは、予約販売期間の途中で各スケジュールの残席数をもとに、販売価格を動的に修正する販売政策(変動価格制)を導出した。その後、国内の輸送市場において新幹線と航空の競合路線を対象として、現在の各輸送機関の運賃制度に対して変動価格制がどの程度、収益改善に貢献するかを分析した。さらに、昨年度から研究している資金管理モデルの拡張を考えた。これまでに不確実な資金量の変動から生じる資金の余剰や不足が発生した際に、二種類の有価証券を利用して資金の投資や調達をおこない資金量を調整するモデルを構築した。そして、無限期間における在庫費用と取引費用の総費用を最小とする最適な取引タイミングと取引量が存在することを示した。最適な資金管理政策は4つの閾値からなり、数値計算により求められる。本年度は、このモデルを簡略化することで、4つの閾値を数値計算ではなく閉じた形で導出し、閾値の定性的な性質を考察した。
