This research program enabled to establish the methodology of induction of'megakaryocyte cell line' from human embryonic stem(ES) cells or induced pluripotent stem(iPS) cells, contributing to the huge amount of platelet generation in vitro. We also developed new drug to block the platelet inactivation occurred at 37°C through the inhibition of ADAM10 and ADAM17.
