Research on the practical application of lapis lazuli to the ceramic blue glaze

本研究建立在工艺试验和烧成试验分析的基础上，为天青石在陶瓷釉料中的实际应用奠定了基础。在该项目的第一个财政年度，从从一块粗糙的宝石中分拣和研磨的天青石粉末中提取了一种高纯度的蓝色颜料。在此基础上，对平成22~23烧成过程中显色的可能性进行了研究，制得了质地稳定、显色稳定的低温青金石釉。另一方面，研究澄清了该材料不适用于高温陶瓷釉的事实。研制了低温天青釉，并将其应用于陶瓷厂。在该项目的最后一个财政年度，最终成果作为研究成果报告在展览会上展示。

This research was based on technical experiments and the analysis of the firing tests for practical application of grinded lapis lazuli to the ceramic glaze material. At the first fiscal year of the project, a high-purity blue pigment was extractedfrom powdered lapis lazuli which was sorted and grinded from a rough gemstone. Then, an investigation into the possibility of color development in firing process was conducted from the Heisei 22 to 23.As a result, low-temperature lapis lazuli glaze characterized by stable texture and color development was completed. On the other hand, the studies clarified the fact that the material was not applicable to high-temperature ceramic glaze. The low-temperaturelapis lazuli glaze was developed and applied to ceramic works. The final outcomes were presented at the exhibition as a research accomplishment report at the final fiscal year of the project.
