An International Joint Study on the Greater Mekong Sub-region(GMS) Development Plan in order to bridge the ASEAN・Divide

东盟必须在2015年建立东盟共同体(AC)，特别是东盟经济共同体(AEC)，以缩小发展差距，换言之，弥合东盟早期六个成员国和后发四个湄公河国家(通常被称为CLMV国家)之间的差距。我们发现，大湄公河次区域发展计划和日本官方发展援助都主要通过南北、东西和南方三条经济走廊的互联互通，在推动湄公河次区域国家经济发展方面发挥了非常重要的作用。

It is imperative for the ASEAN to build an ASEAN Community(AC), especially the ASEAN Economic Community(AEC), in 2015 to narrow the development gap, in other words, to bridge the ASEAN Divide, between early six ASEAN member countries and latecomer four Mekong countries which are often called shortly CLMV countries. We have found out that both of the Greater Mekong Sub-region(GMS) development plan and the Japanese ODA have played very important roles in prompting economic development of the CLMV countries mainly through connectivity of three economic corridors(North-South, East-West and South corridors).
