Other race effect in face processing : using classification image and eye tracking techniques

本研究旨在通过分类图像和眼动追踪等多种实验技术，寻找产生他族效应的因素。我们开发了比我们以前的实验系统更详细和精确的刺激呈现。我们还引入了响应一致性方法来研究响应决策过程中的内部噪声。结果表明，对比阈值和反应不支持其他种族效应。因此，非线性信息加工参与了其他种族的影响，这是无法捕捉的分类图像和响应一致性分析。我们需要眼动追踪技术来探索这些可能与其他种族效应相关的非线性面孔加工策略。

The purpose of this study was to find factors to produce other race effect with multiple experiment techniques: classification image and eye tracking. We developed the more detailed and precise stimuli presentation than our previous experiment system. We also introduced response consistency method to investigate the internal noise in response decision process. The results showed that contrast threshold and response did not support other race effect. Thus, it was suggested that non-linear information processing was involved in other race effect, which could not be captured with classification image and response consistency analysis. We need eye tracking technique to explore these non-linear face processing strategies that could be related with other race effect.
