Physiological functions of galactolipids in the photosynthetic membranes

为了了解光合膜中主要的膜脂——半乳糖脂的生理功能，我们尝试用其他的糖脂和磷酸脂来代替这些脂。双半乳糖基二酰甘油可以被葡萄糖基半乳糖基二酰甘油取代，但不能被磷脂酰胆碱取代。这些结果表明，目前光合膜系统中至少有一部分糖脂可以被结构相似的糖脂在生理上补充。

To understand physiological function of the galactolipids, dominant membrane lipids in the photosynthetic membranes, we tried to substitute those lipids to other glyco- and phospho-lipids. Digalactosyldiacylglycerol could be substituted by glucosylgalactosyldiacylglycerol, but not by phosphatidylcholine. These results suggest that at least a part of glycolipids in the current photosynthetic membrane systems can be physiologically complemented by structurally similar glycolipids.
