本研究では、対日直接投資、外資系企業の誘致(拡大)政策について経済学、特に空間経済学のツールを用いて分析を行うことを目的としている。本年度は、理論分析において研究の進展がみられた。以下では、本年度の主要な研究について概要を述べる。1.多国籍企業と現地企業の間に発生するR&Dスピルオーバー効果を考慮した上で、外資系企業のR&D活動の誘致政策が経済厚生に与える影響について分析を行った。このような誘致政策に関する分析は、現在、日本が行っている「アジア拠点化立地推進事業」といった外国から高付加価値部門(R&D部門など)を誘致しようとする政策をイメージしたものであり、誘致政策の妥当性について経済学的な観点から考察を行うことが出来た。本分析については、現在、論文にまとめている段階であり、完成後には英文校正などを経て、海外査読雑誌への投稿を予定している。(本研究は、滋賀大学経済学部の大川良文准教授との共同研究である。)2.市場規模格差と技術格差が企業立地に与える影響について分析を行った論文を海外査読雑誌へ投稿した。この論文については、年度内に第1回目の査読結果が到着したため、現在、査読レポートを参考に改訂を行っており、完了後に再投稿を行う予定をしている。また、この論文については、北九州市立大学で開催された研究会において、報告を行い、他の参加者から有益なコメントを得ることが出来た。(本研究は、神戸大学経済学研究科の菊地徹教授との共同研究である。)
