平成24年度は、前年度に引き続き、夏前まではマドリッドに居住し、その後は帰国して東京の法政大学に戻った。マドリッドではアウトノマ大学の研究室・図書館での資料渉猟・読解を進める一方、グラナダ、セビーリャ、コルドバ、ムルシア等のかつての中世イスラーム都市を中心に実地調査を行った。成果としてはまず、前年度に受理されていた査読論文が平成24年度5月に、日本建築学会計画系論文集に掲載された。前年度の報告書にも記載したように、この論文は、10世紀建造のサン・ミゲル・デ・エスカラーダ修道院教会堂遺構における円柱使用を詳しく分析したものである。円柱使用は、初期中世地中海世界において、イスラーム建築、キリスト教建築に関わりなく比較分析の出来る切り口となりうる。同じ視点から、イスラーム建築に取り組んだのが、秋の日本建築学会大会での学会発表である。現時点ではこうした視点を持った他の研究はヨーロッパにもほとんど無く、今後もこのペースで対象範囲を広げていくことができれば、非常に興味深い新知見が期待できる。本報告書執筆時点では、サン・ペラ・ダ・ロダスという11世紀の修道院教会堂(スペイン・カタルーニャ地方)の円柱使用について考察を進めており、サン・ミゲル・デ・エスカラーダ(半島北西部・10世紀)、コルドバ大モスク(半島南部・8-10世紀)、サン・ペラ・ダ・ロダス(半島北東部・11世紀)のケース・スタディーを通してその共通点と差異が浮き彫りになりつつある。陣内研究室との共同研究としては、とりわけ『アンダルシアの都市と田園』の出版が特筆に値する。これはスペイン南部の都市構造と田園風景についてのフィールド・ワークの結果に、歴史的考察を加えたユニークな学術的成果である。比較的長期にわたりスペインに滞在でき、今後の研究を続けて行くに当たり必要な蓄積ができたのも、特別研究員として自由に研究をさせて頂いたおかげであり、改めてお礼を申し上げたい。引き続き、研究に邁進する所存です。
