The mechanical behavior of the musculoskeletal systems of the legs during take-off motion can be described as a spring. During take-off motion in gymnastic vault, the gymnasts had large leg spring stiffness. The leg spring stifness could have been influenced by the torque at the knee joint. The results from this study can give suggestions to the coaching and the training.
