This study investigates the mechanics of the production and distribution network in East Asia. It is well known that the production and distribution network has developed in East Asia since the 1990s and has contributed to economic growth in this region. In this research project, using firm-, plant-, or product-level micro data, we examine how the production and distribution network has emerged and its impact on local economy, with paying attention to the following three factors; (a) the reduction of trade cost, (b) factor price gap or differences in location advantages, and (c) the role of multinational firms.

本研究探讨了东亚生产和分销网络的机制。众所周知，自1990年代以来，东亚的生产和销售网络得到了发展，并为该区域的经济增长做出了贡献。在本研究项目中，我们利用企业、工厂或产品层面的微观数据，研究生产和分销网络的形成及其对当地经济的影响，并关注以下三个因素：（a）贸易成本的降低，（B）要素价格差距或区位优势差异，（c）跨国公司的作用。
