Ecpected roles and competencies for public health nurses sought by the modern society

The purposes of this study were to clarify the competencies for public health nurses who are sought by the modern society, and to develop the training programs for them. We have studied mainly on those for occupational health nurses (OHNs) because the study on OHNs had been rarely conducted.We examined the competency sought by the company which carries out collaborative investigation. We developed the training programs and demonstrated that it was effective. Moreover individual and group interviews to expert OHNs were conducted to elucidate common competencies of OHNs at each support process. We have clarified them in detail.
