A Study on succession and application of thatching techniques

随着茅草屋数量的减少，盖茅草的方法也在改变，技术人员的数量也在减少。因此，具有当地特定茅草技术的技术人员（工匠）来到其他地区的茅屋，甚至是神道神社。此外，除了现有的本地工匠联系外，全国范围的网络也在后期建设中。本研究阐明了这些变化，以满足目前对茅草屋顶的需求。

As the number of thatched houses decreases, the methods of thatching have been changing and the number of skilled persons also decreases. Consequently skilled persons (craftsmen) with some specific local thatching technique come to thatch houses of other regions, or thatch even Shinto shrines. In addition, besides the existing interlocal connection of craftsmen, the nationwide network is being built in late years. This study clarified these changes for supplying the current demand of thatching.
