Global Role of Social Enterprise for Poverty Reduction: Theory andPractice

社会企业是指通过维持经济利益而不是依靠外部援助来追求社会目标的各种活动，广泛存在于许多国家。这样的活动是基于利他主义的动机，可以用阿马蒂亚·森的能力方法来解释。本研究使用这个分析框架分析了孟加拉国乡村银行的活动、越南的咖啡生产和泰国的有机农业等案例。

Social Enterprise, which is found in many countries, is composed of various kinds of activities that pursue social objective by maintaining economic profitability, rather than by relying on external aid. Such activities are based on altruistic motives and can be explained by Amartya Sen’s capability approach. This study used this analytical framework to analyze those cases such as the activities of Grameen Bank in Bangladesh, coffee production in Vietnam, and organic farming in Thailand.
