In this study, we tried to differentiate mouse iPS cells to alveolar cells in vitro. At first, iPS cells were cultured with ActinA and Wnt3a for 7 days. iPS cells differentiated into endodermal cells expressing Sox17 and Foxa2. iPS cells were further cultured with FGF2 for additional 5 days. Finally, about 8 % iPS cells differentiated into alveolar type II cells determined by SP-C expression and electron microscopy.
