Studies on International Comparison and Classification of Intellectual Property Management

本研究通过对几家公司专利管理及其组织形式的分析比较，加深了对专利管理的理解。19世纪90年代，通用电气和西屋电气将专利管理内部化，组建了专利部门。专利部门形成的原因是研发活动的扩大和发明创造的增加。这些公司的专利管理由专业的专利律师管理。研究还表明，这两家公司都在进入的国家设立了当地的专利部门，但在方式和组织上存在很大的差异。

This study advanced the comprehension of patent management by analyzing and comparing patent management and its organization of several companies. It was 1890s when General Electric and Westinghouse Electric internalized patent management and organized patent department. The reasons for formation of patent department were expansion of research and development activities and increase of inventions. Patent management of those companies was administrated by professional patent attorneys. This study also makes clear that, both companies established local patent department in the countries where they entered into, however, the ways and the organization of it were quite different among them.
