The purpose of this study is to discuss the therapy based on clinical psychology for older adult with dementia, from a standpoint of"role". As a result, it showed three points of view. (1) Older adult with dementia maintain cognition of"social-role"in the family, workplace and community. (2)"Communicational-role"of the older adult with dementia take 4 types of action-role-taking(giver), role-taking(receiver), role-reversal, and conforming behavior. (3)"Communicational-role"is significantly related to"social-role". Thus, this is the effective therapy for older adult with dementia if used these roles appropriately.
